ARTIFICIAL SUN OR ITER PROJECT(nuclear fusion technology)

ITER Project Of Nuclear Fusion Technology

  • INTERNATIONAL THERMONUCLEAR EXPERIMENTAL REACTOR(ITER).
  • ITER project cost is 20 billion euro.
  • India contribute in this project Rs 17500 crore and provide worlds largest refrigerator which is Made In India.
  • This project was launched in 1985 but seriousness of this project shows in 2006.
  • ITER constructed in south of France at Cadarache.
  • It is expected this experiment will completed in 2020.
  • Nuclear power is a very affordable energy world wide use this energy but some problem also occur waste related.
  • Sun is also a nuclear reactor but it is use nuclear fusion method.

Nuclear power is obtain by two method nuclear fission or nuclear fusion

Nuclear power is generated by unstable elements like uranium or plutonium, uranium gets easily in nature but plutonium will generated by use of uranium. To generate power, use uranium or plutonium in nuclear reactor, there is two method to generate power from nuclear reactor : nuclear fission or nuclear fusion.

Major difference in nuclear fission or nuclear fusion is, in nuclear fusion produce more energy as compare to nuclear fission and if we generate power with nuclear fission then we get nuclear waste and this is an environmental problem.

In nuclear fusion there is no problem with nuclear waste and one more advantage of nuclear fusion is its raw material is cheaper and it will get easily.
on basis of compression obviously we can say that nuclear fusion is better option.

Problem to use nuclear fusion technology

We human beings don't understand nuclear fusion how to work and how to make there nuclear reactor and how to use in terms of electricity generation.
We understand only nuclear fission technology this is the region why all of the world use nuclear fission technology.
Sun is a nuclear reactor but it is use nuclear fusion method and we have no idea how to sun generate energy with this method.

ITER Project(experiment of sun)

In this experiment we try to understand how to make nuclear fusion reactor and how to use at commercial level, this project is launched in November 1985 at Geneva summit but countries in that summit not take this project seriously then seven ITER member countries signed an agreement in paris on 21  November 2006. member countries are EUROPEAN UNION, CHINA, RUSSIA, USA, JAPAN, INDIA in 2005, SOUTH KOREA in 2003, after some time SWITZERLAND join.

Now there is 8 countries who have 100% participate in this project, responsibility of full member countries are to contribute 10% of total money of project but in case of European Union this is group of countries so it will contribute 40% of total money.
In this project construct a little sun on Earth to understand how sun creates fusion energy and then we make copies of those reactor for commercial purpose.

Advantage of ITER project for India

India is invested Rs 17500 crore, a big amount for India like countries, when the experiment is completed India has 100% access of those technology and with the help of this technology India makes nuclear fusion reactors in his country and this is one more step for safety of environment or it will produce more energy as compare to other method.
For India this technology is free because he invested lot of money from beaning of ITER project.
When the project is completed India makes fusion reactor on his country and sell or share this technology with other countries.

world need to understand to allow the access of nuclear fusion reactor technology for all countries free of cost because this is play an important role for safety of environment
