What is Russian Floating Nuclear Reactor(AKADEMIC LOMONOSOV)
Why Russia need AKADEMIC LOMONOSOV
Russia have a unique problem of agriculture, it is true Russia is a superpower, a giant country but its maximum land are not useful for farming, In north of Russia population is very limited as compare to area because of cold weather or absence of agricultural land.
Russia wants to use these land for boost our economy so Russia try to do mining,Dig for find minerals, oil and natural gases etc.
Without energy or electricity it is impossible for Russia to do mining, So there is only solution for Russia, to make a nuclear power plant on northern Russian region, but again their is a problem for Russia, if mining is completed or work of project is finished then no need of nuclear power plant at those region and it is also a liability for Russia.
To resolve all the problem Russia makes a floating nuclear reactor whose name is akademic lomonosov.
Use of AKADEMIC LOMONOSOV type nuclear rector
Akademic lomonosov is a floating nuclear reactor so it can move one place to another place(this is the basic use).
In north of Russia Akademic lomonosov dock where Russia need energy they provide energy and when no need of energy it moves our next destination.
This idea is very suitable for those countries who have islands, for example:
India wants mining on andaman and nicobar but they have not any power source for mining so Akademic lomonosov type floating nuclear reactor can very useful for this situation.
Disadvantages of floating nuclear reactor
It is a very revolutionary Idea but it has some side effect also:
- In this floating nuclear rector energy is produced by fission reaction of uranium.
- Its length is 144 meter, weight 21000 tons.
- It carries 2 reactor of 35-35 megawatts which produce approximate 60 megawatt electricity.
- It is Carrie 69 to 75 crew.
- Its objective is to provide energy to Russian oil production area.
- It is operational in between November 2019 to February 2020.

Disadvantages of floating nuclear reactor
It is a very revolutionary Idea but it has some side effect also:
- According to study of nuclear plant it is clear, every nuclear plant produce radioactive waste.
- The problem with floating nuclear reactor is its size, if any accident face this floating reactor disaster is very big because it occurs on the surface of water.
- This is not first time any nuclear reactor on sea nuclear submarine also exist but they have small nuclear reactor, those reactor can supply power only submarine, one more thing is that those submarines are under the water, if submarine faces accident then the losses face only under water animals.
- Russian nuclear power missile on 8th of August 2019 (5 scientist approximate death )
- Losharik nuclear submarine on 1st of July 2019 (14 sailors death )
- Kursk nuclear submarine on 12th of august 2000 (118 peoples death)
- Komsomolets nuclear submarine on 7th of April 1989 (42 crew death)
- Chernobyl nuclear power station on 26th of April 1986 (less then 100 people death)
here world need to make some useful steps to protect our earth, all we deeply know nuclear is dangerous for earth but we can not take step to stop this, each country blame others but they not work on own nuclear program, to see these thing i can say END IS NEAR.
